VI Peel—Designer Chemical Peel
What Is VI Peel?
The VI Peel is our “designer” or blended peel. Blended peels are superior to single acid peels. Single-acid peels inherently treat a limited number of conditions. For example, a straight Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) peel is amazing at combating the signs of aging. Unfortunately, obtaining impactful results requires a high percentage of TCA. Not only is it painful, but treatment will also be limited to Fitzpatrick Skin Types I-III. Blended peels have the ability to not only address a patient’s primary concern but will simultaneously address any secondary skin conditions they may have as well. The VI Peel comes in 4 formulations to target your specific skin care needs.
Conditions Treated
Fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, sun spots, damaged skin, acne-prone skin, and acne scarring.
How VI Peel works:
Retinoic Acid: This powerhouse acid penetrates the skin inhibiting melanin production and increasing cell turnover.
Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA): TCA then targets signs of aging by boosting collagen and exfoliating the skin.
Salicylic Acid: Salicylic acid prevents inflammation by killing bacteria, suppresses sebum production, and cleansing the pores.
Phenol: This is the secret weapon that numbs the skin allowing for a painless application.
Ascorbic Acid: Finally, ascorbic acid is a powerful antioxidant that reverses free radicals, evens skin tone, and helps prevent future damage.

Important Information
Prior to receiving treatment I have communicated with the Practitioner about any conditions or medications that may contraindicate this procedure.
There may be some degree of discomfort such as burning, stinging, redness, heat or tightness during and a week after the procedure.
There is no guarantee of the final results of the peel. Occasionally hyperpigmentation may develop which may persist for a week or months after the peel.
Avoid use of retinol, tretinoin (Retin-A), waxing, electrolysis, or any products that can be irritating such AHA cleansers/creams for 48 hours prior to peel.
Although complications are very rare, sometimes they may occur. In the event of any complications, I will immediately contact the Clinician who performed the treatment.
If you have any acne condition in the skin, the peel may bring out oils and bacteria from below the surface and can cause an actual breakout.
Maintenance of VI Peel® treatments are necessary to maintain results as well as the recommended VI Derm® skin care regimen and SPF 50+.
Extended direct sun exposure including tanning beds are strictly prohibited before and after receiving the VI Peel®.
No activities involving excessive sweating can be done for 72-96 hours after the peel (exercise, sauna, hot tub steam room and that overheating may cause me to develop blisters or cause hyperpigmentation to worsen.)
Allow the skin to peel naturally. Do not pull of skin. This can lead to blistering and hyperpigmentation.
Skin must be protected with VI Derm® SPF 50+and avoid sun exposure during the 7 day exfoliation process.
No other chemical peels, facial machine brushes or medical device (laser, IPL, etc) treatments may be performed on your skin until my clinician releases me to do so.
